Unbroken Ministries is a Christ-centred church devoted to serving the Body of Christ through healing, deliverance and discipleship. We carry a deep calling to see lives restored and believers established in their walk with God.
Church first. Ministry flowing from church life.
At our core is a passion to see people made whole — spirit, soul and body. We believe true transformation comes through an encounter with Jesus Christ, grounded in truth, led by the Holy Spirit and anchored in the love of God.
Our ministry is not only about receiving healing. We desire to see believers equipped to walk in freedom and maturity so that, in turn, they are able to minister to others.
We gather as a local church around worship, the Word, prayer, ministry and fellowship. From that church life flow dedicated ministries that serve individuals, couples, churches and the wider Body of Christ.
Restoring people to God and preparing the way.
Isaiah 61 and Isaiah 62 form a foundational covenant and mandate for Unbroken — shaping why we minister, disciple, equip and serve.
We see in these passages a calling to restore the broken, proclaim freedom, prepare the way for God’s people, remove the stones that hinder their walk, and prepare His people as a mature and restored Bride.
We believe every believer is called to be discipled, equipped and established in their unique calling and anointing. Our mission is to help prepare and restore hearts, removing obstacles that hinder intimacy with God and helping believers walk in the fullness of the gospel of peace.
Part of that mandate is to build a highway for the returning people of the Lord: making the way clear, removing stones and helping people become established in Christ. What God restores in us should not end with us; believers are equipped so that they can faithfully serve and minister to others.

Isaiah 61 and Isaiah 62 express the heart of our mandate: restoration, freedom, preparing the way and establishing God’s people in Him.

Unbroken is not a one-person ministry. Leadership is shared, accountable and team-based.
Pastoral Leadership
Gert and Elsa van der Merwe serve together as the pastoral couple of Unbroken, caring for the church and stewarding its ministry and direction.
Our Mandate Team
Unbroken is served by a leadership team of seven people, which we refer to as our Mandate Team. Together, the team serves the body, provides godly counsel and accountability, and supports the pastoral couple in the stewardship and direction of the church.
We place a strong emphasis on biblical leadership, accountability and leadership development — within Unbroken and in equipping and strengthening leaders in the wider Body of Christ.
What we carry, we want to give away.
Unbroken serves through church life, prayer and personal ministry, biblical teaching and conferences. We also welcome conversations with churches that would like to host a conference or ministry gathering.
